Beautiful park!! We really enjoyed hiking the Augie's Ridge / Woodland trail! Campground was nice too. Water hydrants we're off, and the comfort station by us was closed, but that's expected this time of year! At least the dump station was open. Really appreciate how they work the day pass for campers, so that you only need to pay for 2 days when staying 2 nights, instead of 3 days like some parks! Would definitely recommend!

What a pleasant stay at Newton Hills. So very well maintained and clean. Great staff and even greater wilderness. Such pleasant campers that weekend I stayed also. Such mature and friendly people. Only downfall would maybe be the bad cell service in the area, for 2023 that's just unusual. I know I know, you go camping to get away from technology but we did get some rain that weekend so it would have helped to see the radar.

Note: there is NO lake, no swimming, no fishing, etc. It is dried up. Besides that, beautiful hiking trails and a great time finding "Sasquatch ". Looks like a wonderful place to bring horses to trail ride!

Had a wonderful fall camping trip. Many camp sites and some are a little secluded if you like a little more privacy. The tent only sites are off of the beaten path as well. Facilities were clean and staff is friendly. The only down side is that of your in the mood for anything having to do with water, you'll have to load up and go to Lake Lakota(about a mile down the highway. Still a very nice state park. Also many many miles of hiking trails. Trees are abundant within the park so shad isn't an issue either.

Spent few hours, just stopped by. It has hiking trails, kids play areas, campsites, a lake, lookout tower. It rained a day before so was muddy but greenary is all around. Water level is low from usual in Lake Lakota. It has a beach too. Good for spending time with family and kids. Lots of picnicking places available.

Weekday camping at Newton Hills was quiet, relaxing, and a perfect getaway. The park is clean, offers much to do, and has pretty nice facilities. Campsites are well spaced (or there are close ones if you are camping with friends), and many are nice and shady. Many back up to wooded areas and offer nice privacy. If you prefer a cabin, they have a few of those too. Overall, a great park! Don't forget the lake and swim beach across the road, and you can even rent a bike to get there, or a paddle board or kayak to use there!
